You Are Jonah

Main message: Don't judge Jonah — see yourself in him: many of us know what God wants but repeatedly choose the opposite. Belief in God is not the same as obedience, and Jesus calls us to obey.

Key points:

• The point of the Jonah series is to identify with Jonah, not to criticize him.
• We often resist God's clear commands in everyday choices (examples given: not speaking to someone God wants us to speak to, doom-scrolling, visiting sinful websites).
• There is a real difference between believing in God and actually obeying Him.
• Jesus expects obedience, and Jonah is an example of someone who flees from the truth.
