Summary
Main message: God allows a sifting (violent shaking) to strip away what’s toxic so the faith He’s already placed in us can remain and become our substance — when we’re converted and strengthened by that process, we can then help and model wholeness for others. Expectancy and the right posture (looking up/receiving) position us to receive what heaven wants to deposit.
Key points:
- Expectancy has a posture — choose a posture to receive from heaven and get out of trauma/emotion to hear God.
- Jesus warned Satan would “sift you as wheat”; the shaking removes residue so the faith God put in you can surface and carry you.
- There’s a difference between having faith in God (entrance) and the faith of God (a birthed, finished faith you learn to walk out amid fleshly struggle).
- Conversion and the sifting process make you a model — once changed you’re called to go strengthen others (the healed/converted can “snatch” the lame).
- The church must be a place that brings broken people in and models healed wholeness rather than hiding dysfunction.
Scriptures mentioned: Luke 22:31-32 (sifting/“your faith fail you not”), Acts 3 (lame man at the gate; “Silver and gold have I none…”), Acts 2 (Pentecost), 1 Corinthians 12, Galatians (including 2:20 and Peter’s behavior), Hebrews 11:1 (faith definition), Philippians 4 (be anxious for nothing)
