Waiting IN God’s Promises - Pastor Theresa Aguilar

Main message: God is a faithful promise-keeper, and when His promises seem delayed we are called to trust and wait on His timing—living in reverence for God, as heirs with royal identity, and with patient endurance because the Holy Spirit is the guarantee of those promises.

Key points:

• God always keeps His word (illustrated by the rainbow covenant and Numbers 23:19); Jesus is God’s definitive “Yes.”
• Promises often have a gap between promise and fulfillment (examples: Noah, the Eden promise, Abraham & Sarah, Joseph, Hannah); God’s timing differs from ours.
• While waiting we are to live with reverence—honoring God’s majesty and looking for what He is doing rather than treating Him like a “slot machine.”
• Remember your identity as a child/heir of the King (seated with Christ, with kingdom authority), which gives a higher perspective in seasons of waiting.
• Wait with patience (a fruit of the Spirit); God’s delays can be for our good and for others’ repentance and growth. The Holy Spirit is the down payment/guarantee of God’s promises.
