Main message: Jesus is the only sufficient Savior — his sinless life, substitutionary death, and resurrection make forgiveness and new life possible; salvation comes by repentance and trusting Christ (not by good works or religious activity).

• Jesus lived perfect, died in our place, rose again, and by faith in him the Father accepts that sacrifice and gives the Holy Spirit to believers.
• Repentance (a change of heart/mind) and confessing Jesus as Lord (Romans 10:9) results in the Spirit coming to dwell in you, bringing forgiveness, new life, hope, peace, and joy.
• Salvation is not earned; it is received. The gospel makes “dead people alive,” not merely “good people better.”
• Seven common false views of salvation to reject: thinking you’re saved because you’re a good person; merely believe in God; attend church; prayed a prayer as a child; were baptized without a transformed life; wear Christian gear/attend events; or grew up in a Christian family.
