Main message: God's love is immeasurable and worth a lifetime of seeking; the proper response to receiving that love is to prize it above everything and to sacrificially love others as proof that we know God.

• Paul prays that believers be rooted and strengthened to grasp the breadth, length, height and depth of Christ's love (you can know as much as you're able, though God's love is infinite).
• God's steadfast love is "better than life" and should be prized, valued, and not taken for granted.
• The first response to that love is receiving the gospel (repentance and faith) and being grateful—don't delay accepting what God has lavished on you.
• The commanded and proving response is to reflect Christ's sacrificial love to others; loving others is the evidence that God abides in us.
