Main message: Jesus is supremely preeminent and the point of everything — we are who we are by God's will and find our identity, purpose, and deepest rest only in Christ, not in extra practices, experiences, or performance. Therefore the church should cultivate gratitude for one another, hold fast to the gospel, and learn to meet Jesus both in quiet rest and in the everyday mess of life.

• Remember who you are "by the will of God" — gratitude, confidence, and joy come from your God-given identity (husband, father, child of God, pastor, etc.).
