Summary

Main message: People often pursue power and serve with selfish motives, but Jesus modeled humble service; what matters is the purity of your heart, not merely outward goodness. The speaker warns that you cannot please God or "get nowhere with God" if your heart is self-seeking.

Key points:

  • Many seek leadership or service for personal gain and influence, not for others' benefit.
  • Jesus said he came not to be ministered unto but to minister — a model of humble service.
  • People rarely serve from a pure heart; ulterior motives corrupt service.
  • Outward goodness or activity cannot substitute for a right heart.
  • The speaker emphasizes the necessity of a servant-hearted posture before God.

Scriptures mentioned: Mark 10:45, Matthew 20:28
