Main message: Jesus calls believers to join his restoration of the Eden project—bringing God's rule, order, justice and flourishing to the world—by living selflessly (losing your life) rather than selfishly. Mark 8 shows that the feeding miracle and Jesus' teaching (vv. 34–37) illustrate this call: be generous servants who show signs of the coming new creation.
