Main message: God’s grace is the active, sustaining work in the believer’s life during seasons of discomfort; faith’s role is to access and respond to that grace (not to earn or sustain it by law-keeping), and trials are permitted to mature our dependence on God.

• Grace and glory are linked: when grace shows up in suffering, God’s presence, power and provision will be manifest even if the trial remains.
• Faith’s job is to access what grace has already provided — faith is a positive response to God’s finished work, not a performance to earn favor.
