• Colossians 2:8–9 teaches that all the fullness of deity is in Christ and in him believers "have been made complete" (plēroma)—a permanent, unearned standing.
• Dating from an incomplete place (holding parts of yourself back from God) produces repeating, shallow or unhealthy relationships; you give others an incomplete you.
• You must surrender your whole self to God—what you withhold from God you withhold from others—and live under Christ’s authority to experience true wholeness.
• Practical implications: allow time to heal between relationships, don’t expect a spouse to replace Christ, choose wisely, and pursue holiness and integrity in relationships.
